What is the LCRDP Board?
The Liverpool City Region’s visitor economy is a vital component of the region’s overall economic fabric. From its rich cultural heritage and iconic landmarks, waterfront and beaches to its vibrant arts and music scene and world-class sporting events, the city region has become a must-visit destination for visitors from around the globe. The LCRDP Board are instrumental in harnessing this potential and shaping a strategic vision for the future and delivering the region’s Destination Management Plan.
The overarching purpose of the Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership is to:
· To influence policy, stimulate economic growth, productivity and competitiveness whilst supporting the Liverpool City Region in its ambitions for inclusive growth and sustainability.
· Strengthen public-private sector partnership arrangements to provide leadership and management of the Liverpool City Region as a destination.
· Promote the city region at national and international levels, raising visibility, attraction, driving tourism growth, and supporting inward investment activity.
· Maximise the contribution of the visitor economy to wider placemaking, levelling up and economic growth.
· Help shape and deliver national strategy and activities through enhanced strategic relationships with VisitEngland, Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and wider government.
· Focus on key priority areas for the visitor economy sector.
How the Board works
The LCRDP Board is established within the Combined Authority and serves as the City Region’s expert leadership group for the visitor economy. Its role is to provide strategic direction, influence policy, and champion the contribution of the visitor economy to the wider LCR economy. The Board works to support economic growth, productivity and competitiveness, while helping to deliver the City Region’s ambitions for inclusive growth and sustainability.
The LCRDP Chair or their representative will sit on the LCR CA Business and Enterprise Board, and LCRDP members will be advocates of the sector as well as promoting the City Region to national and international audiences supporting inward investment activity where possible.
In all cases, the Combined Authority will endeavour to ensure that the new boards reflect the communities that the Combined Authority represents across the City Region, including a commitment to achieve gender balance, with 50% of seats across all boards taken by women.
Representation
We are recruiting for a new board member to represent the accommodation sub sector for the visitor economy. Board members should bring a knowledge of the sector and a specific expertise.
The LCRDP Board will also have the flexibility to co-opt members to plug gaps in areas of expertise, local geography or to ensure greater diversity.

Applications should take the form of a covering letter (no more than 2 sides of A4) explaining why you are an ideal candidate to be the LCRDP Accommodation Board member, and how will you represent the sub-sector you are applying for from a city region perspective.

Appointment process
Applications that are considered to meet the competencies and have the required skills, knowledge and experience will be invited to a stakeholder panel with the LCR Combined Authority and LCRDP Board.
The purpose of the panel is to verify the information provided in the individual’s submission, explore motivations for the role and what the individual can offer as LCRDP Board member.
The panel members will at all times be aware of the need to follow best practice in terms of equal access, openness and equality and diversity, and any potential conflicts of interest.
The interview process for the LCRDP Board members will take place mid to late October 2026 and will be confirmed with individual candidates.
