Cunard’s ‘Sea of Glamour’ Exhibition and Queen Anne Cruise Ship return joins Liverpool’s Big Weekend, from May 26–27, 2025.
Cunard is inviting everyone to immerse themselves in nearly two centuries of unforgettable moments from its celebrated history with the ‘Sea of Glamour’ exhibition. Set against the backdrop of Liverpool’s Big Weekend, the exhibition will be hosted at Liverpool’s famous Royal Liver Building from May 28 May – 17 June 2025, alongside the excitement of the LFC Premier League Victory Parade and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
As part of Cunard’s 185th anniversary celebrations, the exhibition will showcase an extraordinary collection of photographs from the Cunard archives, featuring Hollywood icons, musicians, royalty, politicians, and memorable passengers from the golden age of ocean travel. The exhibition will also explore the glamour and elegance of Cunard ships, with photos capturing historic moments at sea.
A Unique Exhibition at the Heart of Liverpool’s Big Weekend
The ‘Sea of Glamour’ exhibition will debut during a time of vibrant city-wide celebrations, with Liverpool City Centre buzzing with energy and excitement. From May 26–27, Liverpool will also host BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, one of the UK’s biggest music festivals, and the LFC Premier League Victory Parade on May 26, marking the team’s 2024/25 Premier League title win.
This year, Liverpool’s Big Weekend will be the perfect backdrop for the ‘Sea of Glamour,’ where visitors can explore Cunard’s rich heritage in the heart of the city as it celebrates both its maritime history and its ties to Liverpool.
Mary McCartney Captures a Special Moment in Cunard’s Legacy
Mary McCartney, daughter of Beatles legend Sir Paul, will take the final photograph for the exhibition herself, capturing a portrait of Queen Anne’s Icons in Liverpool on the day it opens. This unique image will offer a fresh, captivating perspective on Cunard’s iconic link to Liverpool.
