Step Into the Story: How Reading Shapes the Mind
As part of the International Festival of Neuroscience, ACC Liverpool will host a fascinating public lecture exploring how reading shapes our minds — from the way we think and feel to how we speak and even sleep.
- Monday, April 28th
- 6:30–7:30 PM
- ACC Liverpool
Presented by The Queen’s Reading Room, this special event brings together a remarkable panel of speakers to examine the powerful influence of literature on the brain:
- Ann Cleeves OBE – Bestselling author of Vera and Shetland
- Professor Frank Cottrell-Boyce – Acclaimed screenwriter and children’s fiction writer
- Sally Dynevor MBE – Known for her long-running role as Sally Metcalfe in Coronation Street
- Professor Sam Wass – Leading neuroscientist and child psychologist specialising in concentration and stress
The event forms part of the British Neuroscience Association’s flagship conference and is one of many public activities taking place across Liverpool this spring, bringing neuroscience out of the lab and into the community.
Tickets are £10, with all proceeds supporting the charitable work of the British Neuroscience Association and The Queen’s Reading Room.
