Visit Southport’s Bear Hunt

Visitors to Southport can now enjoy a brilliant bear hunt.

Southport town centre will soon welcome the arrival of ten colourful bears, all inspired by the classic ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ children’s picture book.

The hand-painted sculptures feature unique designs from talented artists and illustrators; each representing a different theme.

The Bear Hunt trail is a free event and perfect for all ages. Trail maps will be available for those who wish to explore the town in search of the bears.

The sculptures will be on display in locations throughout Southport town centre from Saturday 1st February 2025 until Sunday 27th April 2025.

Southport BID and Sefton Council are working with Wild in Art and Walker Books to bring the much-loved children’s book to life.

‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ was published in 1989 and was written by former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. Published by Walker Books, it has attained worldwide sales of more than 9 million copies.
