Tourism businesses across Liverpool City Region now have the chance to strengthen their inclusivity and unlock the potential of a £7.1 billion domestic market, thanks to VisitEngland’s new free e-learning course, ‘Welcoming LGBTQIA+ Customers.’
This self-paced, interactive training is now available on the VisitEngland Academy Learning Platform and offers practical guidance on inclusive customer service, marketing approaches and authentic representation. With content shaped around lived experiences and current best practice, the course covers key areas such as gender identities, pronoun use and proven strategies for welcoming LGBTQIA+ visitors.
Created in partnership with Real Sense, the interactive course is designed to help tourism businesses to develop their awareness of this market and provide them with practical guidance on becoming more inclusive for LGBTQIA+ customers.
The course is relevant for all tourism professionals, from front of house staff working in accommodation and attractions to staff working in senior managerial positions.
The timing couldn’t be better. As Pride celebrations sweep the UK throughout the summer, there is increased interest and opportunity to ensure your business is inclusive, welcoming and prepared to engage this high-value audience in meaningful ways.
