Randox Grand National 2025: Weights Revealed as I Am Maximus Aims for Historic Double

The excitement surrounding the 2025 Randox Grand National has soared following the announcement of the handicap weights at the annual event at St George’s Hall in Liverpool, held on Tuesday 11th of February.

The reveal has set the stage for one of the most anticipated races in horse racing history, with defending champion I Am Maximus allocated the top weight of 11st 12lb. The horse, trained by Willie Mullins, will be looking to emulate the legendary Red Rum, the last horse to win consecutive Grand Nationals, a feat achieved in 1974.

With his sights set on securing back-to-back victories, I Am Maximus remains a strong contender, currently priced as the 12-1 second favourite for the race. Mullins, who has entered a formidable team of ten horses for the Grand National, will also have other key runners, with I Am Maximus among the top picks for the event.

The 2025 Grand National will take place from April 3-5 at Aintree Racecourse, offering three days of world-class racing, entertainment, and the chance to witness history in the making.
