Sugar and Spice Festival Returns to Port Sunlight

Port Sunlight Village is preparing to host a seasonal celebration of local flavour and creativity, as the Sugar and Spice Festival returns for its Autumn 2025 Edition on Friday 01 November, from 10:00 to 16:00.

Taking place at The Diamond, opposite Port Sunlight Museum, the event is free to attend and promises a vibrant mix of food, drink and artisan stalls, all set within the village’s picturesque surroundings.

Organised by Port Sunlight Village Trust in collaboration with Wirral-based chocolatier The Chocolate Cellar, the festival will feature over 40 independent traders offering everything from handmade chocolates and Mediterranean delicacies to spiced treats, homeware and accessories. Visitors can expect a warm, welcoming atmosphere with plenty of seasonal charm.

Highlights include the Port Sunlight Foodie Tour, where guests can explore the village’s culinary history and sample the recently rediscovered Port Sunlight Bun, a pudding first created in the early 1900s. Tickets for the tour are limited and must be booked in advance.
Families can enjoy the Autumn Trail, a self-guided activity that invites children to find hidden acorns around the village, with a seasonal prize waiting at the end. Tickets for the trail are £6 and must be pre-booked.

Live music and poetry will add to the day’s atmosphere, with performances from Sing the Musicals Choir and the Port Sunlight Ukulele Group, alongside readings and workshops from the Wirral Poetry Festival, which continues into Saturday 02 November.

With free entry, easy access via Merseyrail’s Chester line and a strong focus on local makers and producers, the Sugar and Spice Festival offers a valuable opportunity for visitor economy businesses to connect with a high-footfall, family-friendly event that celebrates the best of Wirral’s creative and culinary talent.
