Event: Liverpool City Region Flying The Purple Flag

Hot off the heels of the fantastic recent news that Liverpool has officially retained its Purple Flag status for the 15th year in a row, businesses across Liverpool City Region are invited to attend an exclusive event aimed at securing prestigious Purple Flag status for the entire city region – a mark of excellence for vibrant and safe nightlife destinations.

Taking place on Wednesday 1 May 2025, from 2pm to 4pm at Riva Blu (Bullion Room), 1 Castle Street, Liverpool, L2 4SW (map), this engaging afternoon will feature a short presentation from John Hughes, Director of the Liverpool Nightlife CIC, on the region’s collective plans to achieve Purple Flag accreditation, part of John’s mission to make Liverpool City Region the most vibrant and safe place to go for a night out in the UK.

With all six boroughs – Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, and Halton, working together, this initiative highlights a shared commitment to safety, wellbeing and a great night out across the Liverpool City Region.

Following the presentation, guests will enjoy light refreshments before joining a short one-mile walking tour designed to showcase the standards and key elements assessors look for when awarding Purple Flag status.

The event is supported by key strategic partners, including Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership, Liverpool BID Company, Liverpool Nightlife CIC, Liverpool City Council, and Hopsy.

Businesses and stakeholders from across the visitor economy, hospitality, and night-time industries are encouraged to attend and be part of shaping the future of our region’s night-time offer.
